Position Summary

Plans, designs, organizes and conducts training programs in corporate service lines for field and home office personnel and for clients; makes special presentations to potential clients.

Responsibilities
    Designs virtual, classroom and on-line instruction in conjunction with business partners and subject matter experts using proven training methods and techniques.
  • Facilitates and leads training instruction (classroom or virtual) using proven training methods and techniques.
  • Designs and updates professional continuing education courses in various media to make them current and compliant for employees and clients.
  • Edits and updates existing courses. Courses may include instructor led or online self -paced courses.
  • Prepares and administers assessments, quizzes, exams and post program evaluations.
  • Maintains library of current resource materials.
  • Stays abreast of new training methods and media and competitor training techniques.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge and current trends in field.
  • Provides on-going mentoring and coaching as needed, for adjusters in the field.
  • Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct.
Requirements
  • Depending on field: For property, flood, liability, or workers compensation, a Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience; for medical case management courses, a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing or graduate degree from accredited nursing school; for technical courses, appropriate technical training and expertise.
  • 3-5 years of experience developing and delivering management, service and leadership programs.
  • Previous experience providing services in branch operations and/or as a Supervisor or Branch Manager.
  • Flood positions: 4-5 years of experience as a NFIP Field Flood adjuster.
  • Maintenance of certification and/or licensing in field; continuing education courses when required. For Claims trainers, a professional designation is preferred (AIC, ARM, CPCU, SCLA or other equivalent claims related professional designation).
  • Position requires some travel.
  • Must complete continuing education requirements as outlined by Crawford Educational Services.
  • Flood positions: Current FCN card required.
  • Position can require additional hours of work (including on weekends) during times of need such as catastrophic events.
  • Deep understanding of instructional design and adult learning methods
  • Knowledge of insurance principles, terminology, customs and practices
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Writing skills needed for production of classroom materials and online course development
  • Excellent analytical ability
  • Good organizational ability, including time management.
  • Good project management skills
  • Very strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of applicable systems
  • Knowledge of Crawford products and services through continuous collaboration with the business units
  • Ability to create an environment conducive to learning
  • Ability to learn and use new technologies to design and deliver training
